Update from TSTA House of Delegates
The 2026 House of Delegates for the TSTA was held on April 17-19 in San Marcos Texas. Your Pasadena Educators Association was well represented, sending a total of nine members to this event. Pasadena shined through in San Marcos, presenting New Business Items and Legislative Amendments by our president, Ryan Mitchell, our vice-president, Agustin Loredo, our secretary, Carol Hernandez and finally, our grievance chair, Angela Garcia. All but one of these proposals passed with flying colors. Your representatives are hard at work.
Also at HOD, we had an opportunity to see our school-friendly governor candidate, Gina Hinojosa. She spoke on how important public schools are and how teachers must be supported at all costs. Keep alert, coming this fall there will be an opportunity to get involved in getting her to the governor’s mansion.
San Marcos was a great time for meeting new people and working with others, such as our wonderful ESP’s, Educational Support Professionals. Sunday, we attended the ESP conference and learned how to begin work on creating district policy for district support staff. We will be getting information to you soon about creating a process for our ESP’s.
Finally, we would like to give a big congratulations to our new TSTA board of directors. Our newest board member from Des Valle ISD is Michelle Cardenas, our new vice-president from Lubbock is David Ring, our new TSTA president is Linda Estrada!!!. Congratulations on these new positions, we look forward to working with them soon.
Remember if you are interested in participating and becoming an active part of our state work, reach out to us, get involved, be the difference!!!
In Solidarity,
Your PEA Delegates |
